Who Is Afridi ?
Afridi tribes are sometimes called (Apridi) in the local dialect of Pashtuns, but the original word is (Afridi). The Afridi clan is actually from the Kirlani (Kirlandi) race and this clan settled in the world long before the time of Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him).
Among the four Pashtun tribes mentioned by the Greek historian Herodotus in 500 BC, there was also an "Epi-Riti" tribe, which is the present-day Afridi tribe of the scholars, as linguists agree. That there is a similarity between Epi Riti and Afridi.
According to the Pashtun genealogy, Afridi or Afridi was the son of Burhan, the grandson of Kaki and the great-grandson of Kurlan (Kirlan) and according to a tradition, Afridi Baba's real name was Usman Baba, but later due to some incident he became Afridi (Afridi). According to another tradition, the name of Amjad, the ancestor of the Afridi tribes, was Faridun, who was the great-grandson of Kirlan Baba.
